This page contains some simple instructions on how to use the more interactive elements of the web site.

Events Calendar

The Events Calendar is used to advertise up and coming EAGLE Club events. To view the calendar just go to the events calendar page. To add an item to the calendar:

1. Go to the calendar login page and login with the administrator username and password (available from the webmaster).
2. You will now be able to see the calendar but there is a small in the top right hand corner of each day. To add an event to that day click on this icon.
3. This will bring up the Add Entry page where you can enter the details of your event. NB You can add HTML tags in the full description box, some useful tags:
     <b>bold text</b> - bold text
     <i>italic text</i> - italic text
     <u>underlined text</u> - underlined text
     <a href="mailto:mail@address.com">email me</a> - email me
4. Once you've entered all your information click 'save' just below the box you've been working in.
5. To make sure everyone can see your new event you must approve the entry. Do this by clicking on 'Unapproved Events' down near the bottom of the screen and then click on 'Approve' next to your event.
6. Log out

Please Note: When you are logged in as the administrator you can click on 'help' in the top right corner of the calendar screen to read the extensive help file on the calendar.

Photo Gallery

The photo gallery is somewhere for you to show off your favourite photos from the weekends and expeditions you go on. To add your photos to the gallery:

1. Go to the photo gallery front page.
2. If you are a new user then you must first register, otherwise proceed to the login screen.
3. After logging in click on the 'Create / order my albums' button at the top of the gallery.
4. Click the New button at the bottom of the large dialogue box.
5. Replace the text 'New album' with the name of your album and click on the 'Apply modifications' button at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click continue.
7. Your album had now been created, now you want to add you photos! Click on Upload file in the top right of the screen.
8. You can upload up to 5 pictures at a time here. When you have completed the form click 'continue'.
9. A message will appear to let you know whether the upload was successful or not. Click 'continue'.
10. Now enter information for each image and specify which album it is to go in using the drop down menu.
11. That's it! Don't forget to log out once you're done.

After you've done it a couple of times it should be fairly easy. However, if this is all too complicated for you then email your pictures to the webmaster who will put them on for you.
